After a few years of making fruit wines, we decided to start a modest vineyard. To do this the right way, we went and asked some wise old men, and decided to use highly disease resistent grapes such as Regent, Rondo, en Marechal Foch (red), en Phoenix, Solaris en Sirius (white).

 

Our vineyard consists of a total of about 300 plants, but we will probably add about 200 more in the years to come. We will mainly focus on red grapes; the varieties to be added will depend on our experiences in the near future.

The last years, we made a fairly palatable wine out of Phoenix en Regent grapes.

 

Until now, we didn't use much insecticides or other chemicals, and vinification is done with only a small amount of sulphite, which makes our wine 'head-ache free' (when consumed in normal amounts).

 

We are convinced that vineyards in Belgium have a future. We are also a memeber of the local wine-community Siddartha in Baal-Tremelo.
